Rained Out

tdhighsmith

3/3/2024. Unfortunately for the past few days Chapel hill got hit with some heavy rain. This plays a huge role in the moutain biking community becasue when it rains the trails are no good to ride. The first reason not to ride after a heavy rain is for the good of the trails. Riding wet trails can tear them up creating unintentional holes divits or even forks in the path. This makes it incresingly difficult and frustrating for the next riders that come through that same exact path. The second reason not to ride after the rain is safety. Wet conditions can cause rocks, roots, and any other parts of the trail to be slippery, which is very difficult to navigate and ride. Riding in wet conditions are never advised for multiple reaons such as messing up the trails or even hurting yourself. Keep it safe and ride when the conditions are dry and awesome.
